Petitioning Elected Officials and Residents of the Town of Concord, Massachusetts

Protect Walden Woods

On Earth Day, April 22, 2013, the people of Concord, Massachusetts took a historic vote at their annual Town Meeting.  They defeated a proposal to construct a bus maintenance and fueling facility on town-owned land near Walden Pond.  However, this 35-acre site remains vulnerable to uses and development in the future that are inappropriate for a site so close to Thoreau’s Walden Pond.  The Walden Woods Project needs your support for the permanent conservation of this municipal parcel.  Your voice will make a difference as our non-profit organization continues to lead the fight for the preservation of Thoreau’s Walden Woods – the birthplace of the American environmental movement.
