Please, tell OU Health to continue treatment for Trans Youth. Oklahoma State Bill 3 provides federal tax money to OU Health, ONLY if they quit providing healthcare to Trans Youth. OU Health must clearly tell politicians they cannot “cancel healthcare” for any of their patients.  OU Health must refuse to allow politicians to determine who can, and cannot, receive treatment.

The doctors at OU took a Hippocratic Oath to “do no harm”, and refusing to provide treatment to a percentage of the population will cause great harm.  One in three African-American Trans Youth has attempted suicide.  Self harm, and suicide attempts, are much higher for Trans Youth than the general population.  Providing Trans Youth with gender-affirming care saves lives, and OU Health is the only place for Trans Youth to receive care in Oklahoma.  

It’s a hospital’s job to save lives, not deny lifesaving care.  Hospitals should follow the science, not be led by politics.  It is essential for OU Health to defend their doctors’, and patients’ rights.  Do not allow prejudices to determine who receives treatment at OU Health.
