Protect the Queen Conch from Extinction in The Bahamas

Scientists have confirmed that the Queen Conch population in The Bahamas is rapidly declining. This is because of overfishing. The Queen Conch is being caught in very high numbers and faster than they can reproduce. Scientific studies have shown that the species may be extinct in as little as 10 years if we do not protect them.
Some of the recommendations to protect the species are to create marine protected areas where they can safely reproduce, and a closed season during their most active reproductive period.
This is a petition to the Government of The Bahamas to pass conservation laws to protect the Queen Conch from extinction and create a sustainable Queen Conch industry.
