Protect the Pinery and Timbers

Stop the proposal to amend the Pinery PD Plan and Guide to allow for an increased number of homes.  Help us preserve current zoning.

Now is the time for action.Very soon Plan West Inc. will present their formal 21st Amendment to The Pinery PD to the Douglas County Planning Department. This amendment will increase the current zoning of 224 lots by an additional 150 lots. Once the formal proposal to amend the planning guide is presented to the Douglas County Planning Department our elected County Commissioners will no longer be allowed to speak with the residents regarding this. So now is the time to get involved.

The issues that will directly impact you will be a higher volume of traffic causing increased congestion and safety concerns; increased amount of smaller sized homes built next to our property lines due to reduction of size in lots from 1 1/2 and 1/3 acre lots to 1/4 acre lots and less; water supply issues;  displacement of our treasured wildlife, and a decline in the quality of life that brought us to The Pinery, Timbers, Misty Pines, High Prairie Farms, and Evans Ranch.  Our property values will decrease and our quality of life is going to change.  Let's take a stand and let Plan West, the Douglas County Commissioners and the Planning Commission know that we want to preserve the merits of distinction that attracted us to The Pinery/Timbers and do not want smaller lots and higher density!!
