Protect the LGBTQ Community from Discrimination
This petition had 350 supporters
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people who live, work and play in Mobile, AL, have no legal protections in employment, housing and public accommodations. That means you can get married on Saturday and be fired from your job, denied service, or evicted from your home because you're LGBTQ. No one should be discriminated against because of who they are or whom they love.
More than 200 counties and cities in the United States already prohibit employment discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. Alabamians believe in the golden rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Discrimination is a violation of that tenet. Sign this letter to Mayor Sandy Stimpson and all 7 members of Mobile City Council and let them know that you demand equal protection for Mobile's LGBTQ community.
