Hello everyone! The Delaware and Hudson Canal Reservoir Lakes Area needs our collective action. We, the Lake Communities Alliance of Rock Hill NY, have been working hard to protect this beautiful area from environmental threats…but we can’t do it without your help.

We will be petitioning the Towns of Thompson and Mamakating to recognize the Delaware and Hudson Canal Reservoir Lakes Area as a Critical Environmental Area (CEA). This designation won’t create any new regulations for developers or government agencies. What it will do is ensure that special attention is given during the State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) of major construction developments. This way, we can promote responsible and sustainable development that honors our precious ecosystem. Preserving the natural beauty of our area relies on careful planning. For the sake of the lush biodiversity, clean water, fresh air, and the enjoyment of this area by everyone—residents and visitors alike—we’re asking for your support.
