Pre-paid funeral plans are coming under enhanced protection in July, however the Safe Hands plan in Wakefield, West Yorkshire have recently declared insolvency avoiding these protections and leaving tens of thousands of people worse off and without funeral coverage, with millions of pounds unaccounted for.
This petition calls on the government to bring forward the enhanced prepaid funeral plan protections from July, to take effect immediately and to take all action necessary to protect and indemnify those people affected by the failure of Safe Hands and other prepaid funeral schemes.
