PLEASE take the time to speak at City Hall on Wednesday, December 10th at 4 PM. The time of day is difficult for many people who work, so if you are able to come speak, please do so. You do not have to be a Hollywood resident to speak about this agenda item, but we really need Hollywood residents from all over the city to come speak in front of their city commissioner.
Protect our public land by getting up early on Dec 10 and heading to City Hall. This condo agenda item will be heard at 4 PM on Dec 10th. However, you can sign up to speak between 7 am and 4:30 pm. (Cutoff is 4:30 pm to sign up). So, you could sign up early and leave until 4 pm. The agenda item will also likely run into the evening, and the last time there was a vote, acquaintances of the developer knew to show up early to get a number to speak. Nobody waiting until midnight to speak was there to support the project. That’s why we encourage you to sign up early. You will have up to 3 minutes to speak.
Please present facts and concerns. Please refrain from personal attacks and politics, as this will not help our cause. Encourage the commission and staff to do the right thing, protect people, the barrier island, and our city from this uncertain 99 year lease with an unknown condo association.
Ask them to honor the deed, our city charter, Florida’s P3 statute, the unanimous rejection from our city’s Planning & Development Board, the many organizations and associations in opposition, input from the Comp Plan 2050 meetings, and our city’s Zyscovich Beach Master Plan.
Share concerns about flooding, sea level rise, storm surge, hurricane evacuation, and storm aftermath.
Ask that the city be transparent and go for a full review and application process with the county and DEP.
Yes, it is terrible that they will cut off the ability to sign up to speak before residents even get out of work at 5 pm, but unfortunately, that’s the current situation.
This vote is not about the design of the project, it is simply about the zoning. Should the city commission vote to change the land use from community open space to medium-high residential? Go to City Hall, 4 pm on Dec 10th. Sign up is from 7 am-4:30 pm. Thank you.
