On April 28th, 2022 my precious, sweet Yorkshire Terrier, Homer was dragged under a fence and killed by a neighbors vicious Pitbull.  After rushing my breathing but lifeless 4 year old Yorkie to the vet, I was told after an hour that his injuries were too extensive and he was bleeding internally.  I had to say goodbye to my beloved Homer.

This was the third reported attack on neighborhood pets by this dog. Animal Control was immediately contacted, and we asked that the Pitbull be put down. Unfortunately even after 3 reported attacks, I have been informed that Animal Control is planning on returning this dog to its owner in 10 days.  I, along with other concerned neighbors are fighting to stop this and have contacted our Alderman and the County Attorney.  Both the Alderman and County Attorney agree that this dog should be put down, however Animal Control has the final say in this matter.

The owner of this dog has done nothing in regards to safe guarding us from this animal. The Pitbull has been allowed to roam free in his yard without supervision with the owner knowing full well how vicious this dog is. I, along with other neighbors have had to spend hundreds of dollars safeguarding our properties from this dog.

Please sign and support this petition to demand this dog be humanly put down and his irresponsible owner held accountable.

We pray for justice for our beloved, innocent Homer Edgar.
