A child under the age of 17 is sexually abused every 1.46 seconds in the United States. In fact one out of every 3 children will be sexually abused at least once by the time they are 17. Our currents laws are simply not strong enough and many offenders serve little to no jail time for their crimes due to plea deals offered from District Attorneys. That needs to change. This petition is a demand for lawmakers to take any plea deal off the table ensuring these pedophiles serve maximum sentences without good time credit, probation or parole. Our children are our future. They are the absolute most precious asset we have. Not protecting them by every means available is unacceptable.
