Prohibiting smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes, in places like multi-unit housing communities and worksites will benefit YOUR health and safety while saving lives and future healthcare costs for friends and loved ones.

• There is NO way to avoid secondhand smoke exposure in public spaces.
• Even brief exposure to secondhand smoke can be harmful to the health of children and adults – it contains more than 7,000 chemicals, including hundreds that are toxic and about 70 that can cause cancer.
• Secondhand smoke causes nearly 34,000 heart disease deaths and more than 7,300 lung cancer deaths among adult nonsmokers in the United States every single year.

EVERYONE has a right to clean air in public spaces and must be protected from the dangers of secondhand smoke.
