These are wonderful animals that restore the ecosystem. To target them for discrediting and elimination is a sin! They help replenish soils and seed plants restoring the life community AND they also greatly help prevent catastrophic wildfires of great concern today with Global Warming! AND they are beautiful and spiritually uplifting to all but the most jaded and benighted of people! PROTECT THEM NOW AND STOP BEING SO BACKWARD AND BLIND, ALBERTA GOVERNMENT! GET WITH IT NOW! I sent you my study based on in field observation of the herd there near Sundre a little over 4 years ago and could send it to you again upon request.

I have a strong love for horses therefore I would do anything do stop this killing of these innocent creatures. At this time I m ashamed to live in Alberta as we will be known around the world as "the horse killers."What have they ever done to anyone to deserve to be loaded into trucks in the middle of the night lured in by Hay and shipped of to get slaughtered.Just the stress alone they have to indure is unimaginable for me.We are almost in 2015 and I strongly believe they re are more humane ways to look after a horse population. The government could look into the spaying of Mares, have Veterinarians volunteer their time and get their input so everything can be done as fast and humane as possible.Or a park could be opened where Tourists from around the World would come in buses and drive thru Park and would get to see these magnificent creatures.Seeing wild horses is completely different than looking at a regular riding horse. There is just something so exciting to look at a wild herd roam the country. It makes me especially sad that in the last years even pregnant mares were captured and slaughtered. There are enough natural predators that will keep the population from getting too high.Last year was extremely cold with a lot of heavy snow covering up any food these horses would need to survive. There are also Cougars and also Human interference that would contribute to lower populations.Random Rednecks drive the country side and shoot numerous horses and leave their carcasses behind. If horses were protected these shooters could face big fines helping horses in the future.I would be so proud if I m a grandma in 50 years and I can still look at wild horses with my grandkids/kids.Right now it looks like Steven Harper would like to wipe out entire population. If Canada only had the Animal Rights they have in Europe we would be a much better Country and more People would want to come here for Vacation and spend money helping our economy.I thank u for your time I m a young mother,Vegetarian and animal rights activist and I m opimistic that we can stop the horse cull now.
