At this rate of increase, people are going to be unable to afford to keep their homes. Many have spent their entire retirement to keep what they've already paid for and now what?! They are out all that money they've worked so hard to build and enjoy their retirement. It isn't right! Our tax system needs a serious reform and legislature needs to listen to the people! It's up to us to voice our concerns and make them listen! We cannot keep going at the same rate we are now, and I know many of you know that. I don't want to see new home buyers lose their homes, or folks that have lived in a home for 20+ years lose their home. People who have worked hard to have what they have deserve to keep what they've earned! It's pretty sad when I hear someone tell me his retirement is gone because between the taxes and Insurance, he makes payments equivalent to a mortgage payment. How is that right? I know we are all upset regarding these taxes and mass appraisals. Unfortunately, the Chief appraiser has laws he has to follow so let's change this whole process.
