Adrianne Weir started this petition to Board Member, Prolacta Bioscience Jacqueline Kosecoff and

I helped found of a small, family run breast milk bank. Milk banking may be a niche space but it’s critical - preterm infants in hospitals around the world rely on donor milk for survival. And it’s turned into big business. My family has been working in breastfeeding and milk banking for more than 30 years and in fact my mother founded the largest milk bank - and it’s come back to haunt her.

My mother left the very company she founded to continue to innovate to improve care for sick babies. Seven years ago, that company had become - a large, multimillion dollar, male dominated, venture backed company sued my mother (and later added me) over alleged trade secret theft. The supposed trade secrets are well known, publicly available information - such as packing supplies in a box, and the freezer temperature to store breast milk. The bad thing about litigation is that even if it’s a sham lawsuit you still have to fight it. We have limped along trying to fight a David and Goliath battle for SEVEN years. With my nearly 70 year old mother using her social security payments to pay our lawyer.

We cannot do it much longer. This is our final plea asking the public to help us fight. Tell Prolacta Bioscience to drop their lawsuit against me, Adrianne Weir and my mother Elena Medo so we can continue to serve the needs of sick babies. It’s time that corporate America puts people before profit.
