Fireworks are dangerous to our four footed friends and those that care for them.  Horses do not understand them.  The only remedy is to drug them through it, but then how long can we do that. Folks fire off fireworks a week before and a week after an event like Independence Day, New Years Eve and New Years day.  Horses can and do hurt people in their fear and confusion.  The projectiles leave debris in turn out pastures. Horse ingest the wadding, get speared by the metal or plastic left behind after the mortars are spent and worried owners/boarders are left to wander the pastures the morning/mornings after in search of all the waste hoping to prevent injury. 

There are regions/areas that are dedicated to fireworks celebrations in every jurisdiction.  There are also regions/areas that are dedicated to horse/equine operations.  If the property is zoned for horses and horse operations, then the area must be zoned prohibitive of fireworks 365 days per year.
