Dolly Pere-Sinclair started this petition to Professor Yemi Osinbajo

The Nigerian public has been hit with news that to obtain our passports, we need to pay the sum of 70,000 naira. This development is disheartening and threatening to our identity as a people. We believe that a passport is not only the right but should be within the reach of EVERY NIGERIAN CITIZEN as this is the most potent form identity any human being can have on the surface of the earth. This amount is over double the minimum wage and will lead to millions of Nigerians losing their relevance, sense of identity and confidence in the system. As it seems, most will not be rich enough to be Nigerian. Having a claim in the country of your birth will be an impossibility to many. We are therefore raising this petition to our able Vice President and hoping that our voices are heard and our plight met. We ALL have a right to be Nigerians. And our identity should not be stolen from us. We are asking that the passport charge be reduced to 30,000 naira, so that every Nigerian can feel Nigerian and identify as Nigerian. Thank you for signing this petition.
