The Officers of University of Technology, Jamaica are attempting to increase all tuition fees for the 2018/19 Academic Year. Students have not been informed and so have no warning to become adequately prepared. It is the belief of the Students' Union that although the University reserves the right to raise tuition fees, it is unacceptable to do so without valid reason and without first giving students adequate notice. Many students are self-funded and will face difficulty with a sudden increase. We want tuition fees to remain for the 2018/19 Academic year as it is too late for students to adjust to an increase in fees.
