These excellent educators serve not only the Arabic programme but also play a key role in other CASS programmes such as Translation studies. Their contributions should not be misrepresented and undervalued using misleading data.

Arabic is one of the most spoken languages in the world. For the country’s leading university to cut funding and resources for this course is unacceptable and has terrible implications for Australian society and economy
