Dear Professor Jancewski,
The Fall 2021 HLTH 430 students feel that if the remainder of the course needs to be on Fridays, it should be taught over Zoom instead of in-person. We feel this way for the following reasons:
- Having almost 80 people crowded into one room is not COVID-friendly. We know from the CDC that the best way to prevent transmission of COVID-19 is to keep at least 6 feet apart from others. It is impossible to do so in a classroom.
- There are some students that are unvaccinated (for various reasons) and need the class to be virtual for their and everyone else's safety.
- Most of us do not have other classes on Fridays. We would have to drive out to Towson just for one class. With gas prices being so high lately (between $3 to $3.50), it would be a huge inconvenience to have to drive anywhere just for an hour.
- There is no logical reason that this class needs to be in-person. We do not have a lab component of the course that requires the use of school equipment. Any group work or participation can be done virtually, as it was done last semester.
We implore you to consider changing the remainder of this course from in-person to virtual.
Thank you,
Your HLTH 430 students
