Sandra Park started this petition to Professor Frances Corner (Warden of Goldsmiths)

We, the Students of Goldsmiths University, whilst wholeheartedly supporting the tutor's strike action, join in with the other student's pleas, and believe we are entitled to have our tuition fees reimbursed for the duration of the strike action.

We believe a partial refund is only fair and not unreasonable given the high cost of tuition. A UK student pays up to £9,000 a year, for 20 weeks of teaching (100 days), that is £9,000/100= £90 a day. Therefore 8 days strike action equates to a total of £720. International students pay up to £18,000, and should be reimbursed £1,440 (£18,000/100=£180 a day) for the 8 days missed.

Unfortunately, Goldsmiths has announced another 14 day upcoming strike in February and March of 2020. The lost tuition would equal £1,260 (£90x14) for UK students and £2,520 (£180x14) for international students, and we are asking for a reimbursement of £1,980 (£720+ £1,260) for UK students and £3,960 (£1,440+ £2,520) for international students.

We feel that the Goldsmiths should compensate us for the fact that we are missing time from our education as a result of the University's attitudes towards its staff.
