I believe the Yomper should stand proudly overlooking the solent where my beloved Father and very proud Royal Marine was buried at sea.

As a Forces Royal Marines Commando who served in the Falklands campaign, I feel the current site of the statue is now establshed as part of our Corps heritage and should repair.

My husband was a member of 45 CDO RM and was killed in the Falklands conflict. The Yomper should stay where he is at Eastney as it is the place Royal Marines recognise as their Portsmouth Home.
Most of the RM who served in the Falklands will have been stationed there at some point in their careers.

We should honour our armed forces and preserve as much as possible any memorials that commemorate their deeds.
