Access of Alumni to the premises of the University

Dear Prof. Lohia,

With due respect we want to draw your kind attention to the fact that in the recent past many alumni were denied access to the university campus and more so when they were accompanied by their family members, e.g. spouse &/or children.

Security personnel at the main gate often told them, with utmost politeness, that there was no permission for entry. It’s quite natural for alumni to take their children to their alma mater –more so for those, who have now settled in some other parts of this small world.

While we completely understand the need for security, is it possible to frame a clear guideline for alumni, who might want to drop by once in a while, with or without family members (spouse/children) purely for nostalgic reasons, without any specific official purpose. We also like to have a clear guideline on type of ID proofs they (and their family members-particularly children) are required to produce at the main gate and which are the areas they can visit. It will be also helpful if time is also mentioned in that same guideline.

Thanking you

Warm regards & best wishes
