Advocate for the voices of past, current, and future Physed students
0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!
There has been little acknowledgement given to the voice of Physed student (past, current, and future). It is time we stand together (Phedders United) and make our voice heard. To contribute to the change. For phedders who have been and are yet to come through the school of Physical Education (PE)
The University of Otago's School of PE is under financial pressure due to the dwindling numbers of full-time student. This is coming at a cost to many of the practical aspects of the BPhEd (Bachelors of Physical Education). This includes camp, dance, and practical papers such as PHSE231. In a degree that is about movement it is important to apply and put into practice what is being researched and studied. It is possible in any class to blend research and practice to have a mutually-beneficial outcome.
By signing this I agree that:
- "Theory without practice is empty; Practice without theory is blind." ~John Dewey
- There is an importance in upholding practical components of a BPhed
- I am either a: current, past, or (intending to be) a future PE student at Otago University
- This is a petition to advocate for students' voices and that I am a vital aspect to be considered in regards to the future changes to University of Otago's PE school.
