Later this week, on Friday June 10th, our school is inviting Pro-Life guest speakers. As a school with a diverse group of students, this presentation is incredibly harmful and makes our learning environment unsafe. In addition, students should have the opportunity to discuss this topic in an unbiased setting. According to the organisation presenting at our school (Toronto Right to Life), "abortion is a human rights violation using science and human rights". Abortion is legal under Canadian law, and it is an essential medical right for all those with uteruses. Clearly, this presentation should not be happening/mandatory in our Carter community.
