RENTAL PRICES IN CORNWALL!!!!

I am starting this petition so that we can get the numbers high enough so that the government HAVE to tackle this FAST growing problem. We need to get noticed

Rental prices are getting out of hand, and why? Because there is no cap, there are NO rules!!!!! People are facing homelessness because they simply cannot afford to rent in Cornwall.

For example £1500pcm for a 3 bed flat with no garden that doesn’t accept pets or help with rent via some form of benefit is DISGUSTING.

Children are constantly having to move schools because their parents can’t afford to live close enough to the school anymore. This is simply not ok! I get that some areas are more desirable than others, but there has to be a legislation on the amount of rent you can charge per sq.ft of house, how many bedrooms, outside space, parking etc. There has to be rental caps so that the landlords cannot charge whatever their greedy hands want.

There needs to be clear guidelines on what you can charge for renting out your house. I know that landlords need to pay their mortgage and get some kind of income from their properties BUT it’s just pure greed reigning over Cornwall and it’s rental population.
