Automatic pardons for those who still have historic convictions for their sexuality.

Automatic pardons for those who still have historic convictions for their sexuality.
Why this petition matters
HOMOSEXUALITY IS NOT A CRIME
As part of the 2017 Police and Crime Act, the Turing Law was supposed to pardon men convicted of historical offences related to homosexuality.
Since 2017, however, only 200 living men have actually had their criminal records cleared under the Turing Law. Those arrested for ‘importuning’ aren’t eligible for pardons and so thousands of men still have criminal records for this ‘offence’. This offence was, essentially, a man convicted of chatting up another man.
Also, gay men who died have been automatically pardoned but those still alive have to apply and many are put off doing so by the bureaucracy surrounded the process.
This petition requests that ALL men with criminal convictions due to their sexuality should receive an automatic pardon, not only the deceased, and including the currently excluded offences.
