Against the ban on smoking in UK prisons

The prisons have started to ban smoking in UK prisons and all high security prisons are expected to be smoke free by the 31st or AUGUST! In my opinion this is not only going to cause unrest between prisoners serving long prison terms that have little to loose by causing trouble for other inmates and even prison staff but you can expect the number of suicide attempts in the UK prisons to rise sharply! About 80% of adult prisoners smoke and it is there right to keep smoking as long as it doesn't affect other inmates or staff and whilst smoking is kept to the individual prisoners cells then there should be no problem with passive smoking! It will cost the prison service a lot less to allow smoking than it is going to cost to stop smoking as there has already been problems in the prisons due to smoking being banned! Drake hall womans prison is just one such incident where inmates refused to go back to their cells and one news company on the internet reported "An independent report into the smoking ban implemented at HMP Cardiff last year found there was a sharp rise in vandalism and violence, which was thought to be partly down to the stress of withdrawal" so I ask people to respect the rights of even our prisoners and sign this petition allow inmates to smoke in their own cell and in the open air exorcise yards!
