Give back Off-Campus Lunch to Rochester Community School’s seniors
Since late November of 2021, Rochester Community Schools took away Seniors’ privilege to take Off-Campus lunch. Students were told it was going to be given back only two weeks later. It’s now mid February and students still don’t have it back. Us, as seniors, have showed our responsibility and our influence as upper classmen to prove that we are capable of having Off-Campus while maintaining the safety of our schools. Not only is Off-Campus lunch a tradition in RCS district, but it gives students time away to re-group before returning back from lunch. The entire student population knows why we aren’t currently allowed Off-Campus lunch, for our safety. Though this is set up to take precautions, we NEED our Off-Campus lunch back. As seniors, we are MORE than capable of safely having Off-Campus lunch. It is a privilege that we have earned throughout these past 12 years in RCS. Dr. Shaner, please give this some thought, this is your opportunity to ensure that future generations also get to experience Off-Campus lunch as high school seniors.
