The banning of school uniform at Melbourne High School

The problem I wish to address is wearing school uniform. School uniform is an unecessary commodity and its only positive use is to promote the school. It is uncomfortable, as many would agree, and it limits the ability for students to express themselves. Isn't that what schools try to promote, the individuality of students? Yet the ubiquity of uniforms restricts students from expressing themselves at all. Thus, it is imperative that school uniforms be abolished.
A viable solution for this would be to let students wear free dress, and in the case that this is too extreme, wear sport uniform daily instead. This way, students get to represent their school and at the same time, experience a heightened degree of comfort and freedom.
