Hello, my name is Kirsten Lilly. I am a freshman here at LBHS, and recently I was informed that Mr. Pellegrini, a Global and AP World History teacher would be losing his job after this year. My peers and I were told that this decision was made due to financial reasons pertaining to the school, as well as outside events such as other schools shutting down. 

With this petition, my goal is to have Mr. Pellegrini to keep his job as a teacher at Long Beach High School. I have spoken personally with many of my peers on their opinion on the schools' decision, and not one student thought that it would be fair to be getting rid of great teachers like Mr. Pellegrini, who makes learning fun and engaging for the students (especially during a pandemic, where finding available positions can be a difficult task). 

A multitude of students agree with me when I say Mr. Pellegrini is one of my favorite teachers; students walk into his class excited to learn, because he makes topics sound interesting. Mr. Pellegrini is also very understanding of outside activities and commitments with things like additional extra help sessions. 

We would like to bring it to the school's attention that the decision being made is not supported by the students, and we would like our voices to be heard with each signature.
