I fully understand that the state has certain deadlines to meet teaching wise, but the amount of work I have just from four classes is unbelievable. At the beginning of this year I worked very hard and had every assignment turned in really early. At this point I am several days behind in three of my four classes. It is not because I got lazy. It is not because I gave up. It is because all my teachers have to follow their schedule and assign us things that they probably do not think will weigh us down. I understand that everyone is new to virtual learning. I understand the need to have a good, solid schedule; however, I know that I am not the only virtual student who is falling behind and stressed. I have lots of things going on at home. Between home and school, it is impossible to achieve every goal I have written every morning on my notepad.

I believe we could fix this by easing up on the work load and have one set turn-in time for everything. All of my teachers have different turn-in times. You’d think it’d make it easier to handle, but for some reason it does not. It is very difficult to find time in my life to do very stressful work. Strenuous things like several essays in a week or even in a day. It starts to build up very quickly when you get behind. I hope this petition can bring this to your attention and show how many of your students, parents, and everyone else involved in our learning from home is affected.
