Show Princeton TX public officials that the community wants diversity
This Monday 7.12.21 the City Council in Princeton TX will decide whether to make it harder to hold events in city spaces like public parks. This is comes right after an extremely successful Pride parade and Festival in Veterans Memorial Park. In the ammendment, they are specifically targeting nonprofits like PTXDiverse.
If it passes, it will discourage diversity events as those willing to try hard to secure permits will be discouraged. If we can show them we want representation and diversity, they won't pass the amendment to make it hard to get permits.
For years, LGBTQ youth have been bullied. At the pride festival, there were many teenagers and young adults finding community safely and in common. We need to show that Princeton can be a safe town to grow up in: for everyone!
Please consider signing this petition, whether you can make the meeting and speak as a citizen or not. Let's show our hardworking city officials that we care and what we want.
