Harmonie Ramsden started this petition to Princeton Public School District and

Valerie Robinson currently teaches mathematics at Princeton High School in New Jersey. She has been teaching at PHS for over six years but left to have her children. She recently rejoined the school district and continued to teach math for high schoolers, consistently receiving high reviews on her teaching.

When someone leaves PHS for over two years, their tenure expires and, when they return, they are considered a new teacher in that respect.

Due to the district's budget cuts, one teacher from each department is planning to be taken out of the school. Valerie Robinson happens to be that person, solely because she left to have children and does not have tenure anymore, despite her years of experience and time at PHS.

This petition was made to implore the district to keep Valerie as a teacher in the Princeton Public Schools district. As Hannah Bobchin '22 said, "She is the only one who helps me understand math. She really makes our class its own little family — something that I'll never get with another teacher."

Hopefully, with enough signatories, the district will reconsider removing Valerie Robinson from the PHS staff and will instead take someone out with lower credentials, regardless of their tenure.
