Nullify the second ADAMS Special Use Permit vote in Prince William County

You may know that there has been a heated debate about a mosque being proposed in the county. The All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) Special Use Permit (SUP) was approved, but the manner in which the last vote was obtained was outrageous. The center of this controversy revolves around the Board's Chairman and high profile politician, Corey Stewart.

On Tuesday, June 27th at 7:30 pm the Prince William County Board of Supervisors held a final hearing on the ADAMS SUP in a rural preservation area called the Rural Crescent. The debate centered around the Comprehensive Plan and its requirement for homeowners and businesses to use a septic system in the area. Some say approving the mosque on septic would kill the project because there was no way they could build a project of that size on a septic system. There were almost 200 speakers, showing you how passionate the debate was amongst both sides of the debate.

Around 3:30 AM, the final votes were held on whether the mosque could have access to the public water line or should use a septic system (staying true to the Comprehensive Plan). The first vote yielded a tie (4 YES, 4 NO) with John Jenkins voting NO multiple times. One of the Supervisors immediately calls for a "motion to reconsider". Confusion amongst the crowd and Supervisors ensue as they try to figure out what is going on.

Magically, a second vote occurs. Corey Stewart, the Chairman and former candidate for Governor, bullied and coerced an exhausted and disoriented John Jenkins into reversing his vote. John Jenkins has voted multiple times in the proceeding opposing bringing public sewer out to the Rural Crescent, so it came as as a shock.

Let our voices be heard and demand the nullification of this vote based on the blatant violations of The Board of Supervisors. This kind of behavior will not be tolerated by our elected officials and it's time we are heard loud and clear.
