Petitioning Prince Micheal

We want Prince to be able to play high school sports in Ohio.

With the current OHSAA rules Prince is not able to play high school sports with his F-1 visa. We want him to experience high school like every other american kid and learn the valuable lessons of teamwork and perseverence. We want OHSAA to change this rule and/or make an exception.

Prince is a 15 year old who came to America, from NIgeria, with hopes of bettering his life through education and other opportunities. He has lost both of his birth parents in the last 9 months. We are in the process of obtaining custody of him but until we can officially adopt him (very expensive) he is ineligible due to his F-1 Visa status. Most other states in the country allow to some extent students of his situation to play at some level or afer certain criteria are met. Ohio just says NO. Period. Team sports add so much to young peoples lives from what can be learned about yourself and working in a group to achieve a higher goal. Not to mention he is a teenager who wants to have fun! He should be allowed to experience the culture of high school in a positive way and gain a full appreciation for what high school is like and have the same opportunities kids who are lucky enough to be born in this country get. He should not be punished for something out of his control and that is not his fault. He is a dedicated student and works hard at everything he does. He is a God-fearing young man who has his priorities in line, which is hard for a 15 year old to be able to accomplish.

Please support him in this endeavor and let your voice be heard to get him the opportunity to play high school sports in Ohio.
