Stop the division of Nimba and creation of new counties in Nimba!!!

We are petitioning to inform all peace loving Nimbaians to express strong opposition to any legislative proposal or petition that supports Nimba division. Our major concern is the petition being presented by some Nimba citizens to divide our noble county on tribal lines or as they called “Upper” and “Lower” Nimba. United Nimbaians is a non-profit organization representing all Nimba citizens and we believe that this issue is serious and detrimental to our unity that has existed for many centuries.
As young sons and daughters of Nimba, we are gravely concerned about tearing our unity apart, our family apart, and generations apart. We urge you to look back and see our county’s history and the heinous suffering Nimbaians endured during the Liberian civil war. What made us stronger today is our UNITY and togetherness. Shredding this unity could possibly spill into a protracted internal conflict with our major tribes for decades.
Nimba division will exacerbate and ignite tribal problem between our two major tribes for a long time. Rather than supporting such of dangerous legislative proposal or petition to weaken our greatness, which is unity, our lawmakers and citizens should instead work together to develop the Nimba County we already have. Our lawmakers should lobby for funds and provide the necessary budgetary to help build modern roads, hospitals, parks, schools, and many technical training institutions. Moreover, our lawmakers should support and empower young Nimbaians in various spectrum (agriculture, technology, entrepreneurship) of fields to enable them to contribute to Nimba’s development. These are some of the developmental agendas we expect for our county, but not division.
Because division or creating a county has never yielded any fruitful developmental result, we strongly need your support in working to keep our county and people together as we’ve been for centuries. Ignoring our unity and history and allowing the selfish aims of certain individuals to divide us will only promote greater problem for Nimba and Liberia than solutions. Honorable Senators and Representatives of Nimba, we urge you to oppose any ideological discussion, legislative proposal or petition that supports Nimba division.
Thank you and may God bless Nimba and Liberia!
