The Hughes-Jones Centre for People and Animals (HJC) in Cornwall PEI, has been expropriated by the Prince Edward Island Government - for the purposes of constructing a perimeter highway.
HJC is a facility which works with horses and people (particularly high-risk youth) - teaching life skills through working with horses in the rural environment.
We are currently awaiting arbitration in June, as we cannot rebuild our facility within the community for the amount we were expropriated for.
In order for our work to continue, we must receive an equitable settlement from the PEI Government which is timely enough to allow us to find suitable land and rebuild before winter.
HJC exists to make our community better one horse and one kid at a time. We welcome the opportunity to continue the work we've been doing since 2008, and implore you to please lend your support by way of your signature - if you believe our grass roots programming has a place in our community.
Thank-you for your continued love and support.
