Us the people of Rodrigues Island are against the fact that our border will be fully open in October and this without any quarantine measures. We understand that the economy of our island relies a lot on tourism industry but we do believe that our health is more important and the local government should br more considerate towards it. One the main reason behind our petition is that our health care system is not equipped to face such a challenge, without enough icu beds and ventilators it will collapse in a short time.

Have the local government consult our frontliners to know if they are fully prepared and equipped to face this situation, have they received any proper training for any Covid-19 case?

Have the village councils officers meet their people to inform them about the measures that should be taken? Is there sufficient mask and sanitizer in the island to provide to the people?
