Forgotten Australians comprised of more than 500,000 people who were raised in Church, Government and Non-Government Institutions across Australia.
Also Children were moved in and out of “Foster Care” many times throughout their earlier years.
Forgotten Australians also include Indigenous Stolen Generation, as well as former British Child Migrants who were sent, away from their parents, to Australia. While in “Care, many of these children experienced physical, sexual and emotional abuse. For many of these children life was very hard as they were deprived of love, proper care, emotional security and safety.
The Australian Government considers Forgotten Australians to be people who were in Institutional Care from the 1900’s until the end of 1989.
