Stop making Darjeeling a war zone

Dear Mr. Modi,
Darjeeling has always been a part of India and the people from our community have made tremendous contributions to the nation. Our brave soldiers have always served and continue to serve courageously with fellow countrymen to defend our nation's borders. The 'Incredible India' ads include footage of our toy train chugging along our winding roads with the majestic Kanchenjunga as it's background. We welcome tourists from other parts of India and indeed the world - year in year out!
Despite all this, Darjeeling is bleeding right now. She is being dominated, a victim to the dictatorial policies of a state Chief Minister who has made some incredible blunders. Darjeeling's sons and daughters are getting killed by people who are supposed to protect the law. The deployment of troops has made Darjeeling look like a war zone. Internet connectivity has been cut off. Sections of the media are busy manipulating the news, and our people are being depicted as villians. But no one seems to care about this and it is absolutely heartbreaking.
This is a question of our identity within a democratic nation Mister Prime Minister. The sheer number of signatories to this petition should give you a clear idea that we, the people of Darjeeling, want out of West Bengal. We just do not feel we belong in this state anymore.
They say a pen is mightier than a sword, but no one said anything about the guns being used by the "law enforcers" which have already claimed three lives in the place we call home. This petition is a desperate cry for help - please help us feel that our voice is being heard. You have to intervene here - you MUST intervene. Ours is a petition to protect our democratic rights. We want our Darjeeling to be peaceful again, we want to welcome the world again, we want everyone to understand that Darjeeling is a warm and caring mother who we love - we want our Gorkhaland!
