End drug menace in Goa, Modi ji !

Narcotics both soft and hard are omnipresent and easily accessible to people especially the youth in almost all of Goa. What is surprising is that some of main drug peddling locations are well established beach shacks like Curlies near Anjuna and Arambol beaches where the restaurant staff itself indulges in sale of drugs like LSD, Marijuana, Ecstasy, Hashish and even harder drugs like Cocaine and Heroin. In fact, such shacks have become synonymous with drugs and are a safe haven to openly roll and smoke marijuana. This points to how police are turning a blind eye towards them on purpose.
It is frightening to see such a state of law and order in India which allows ruining of young and innocent lives so easily. In the face of lack of proper awareness about the harmful effects of drugs such as psychosis, depersonalization, schizophrenia and even death, this situation is even scarier.
Goa is a small state within India, which should be relatively easy to promulgate anti narcotic policy and action, esp when offenders are well known physical establishments and yet the state of affairs just points to unwillingness of the government to take action due to vested interests.
I urge PM of India Shri Narendra Modi and CM of Goa Shri Laxmikant Parsekar, both from the same Bharatiya Janata Party to work together to take swift action to put an end to this social evil which is hurting our nation at the fastest pace than anything else.
