Rural Development Scheme Focused on the Villages of Martyrs

Rural Development Scheme Focused on the Villages of Martyrs

Indian Villages have a proud tradition of their youth joining the Indian Armed Forces and many of them making the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
When any young person decides to join the Army, he/she is well aware of the commitment needed and the risks involved. Indeed the young men and women in the army and paramilitary serve the nation and do so at the greatest personal risk.
We respect our soldiers and want many more youth to join the Armed Forces with pride. A soldier is born because of the support of the family, community, and the culture of his village. It will be a fitting tribute all our martyred soldiers to start a Rural Development Scheme – “Shaheed Smriti Gram Vikas Yojna” which will cater to the all round development of villages which serve as home to a majority of our armed forces personnel who sacrificed their brave for the security of the Nation. This development will serve as a meaningful reminder to all of the bravery of the fallen and also provide long term relief to the affected communities by alleviating some basic deprivations.
We would point out that our focus must be on the plight of those loved ones who get left behind and families decapitated by the loss of lives. We acknowledge that the armed forces and paramilitary do provide relief to the families of those who have given their lives in the line of fire / duty. Some states also announce financial relief and assistance; However, the benefits given by some Governments may vary and mostly do not cover the risks of those left behind who were dependent on the contributions of the salary earning jawan.
This scheme by providing for infrastructure development of the villages has the potential to remove the burden of social inequities and aid the capacity of the affected family and indeed the rural community to lift themselves out of poverty.
There are many individuals who want to reach out and provide financial aid to grieving army families but do not know how to connect. We ask therefore that this scheme should be open to donations from individuals and also organisations who would receive the associated tax benefits on charitable donations. The government could look at matching donations made by the public to the fund corpus.
Developing villages, where the soul of India lives will be the best Homage to Martyrs.
It’s now time to give back to the brave sons of the soil. Accordingly, We petition the Prime Minister of India, our Central and State Governments to initiate the SHAHEED SMRITI GRAM VIKAS YOJNA
