Respected Hon. PM Sir,
After uplifting crores of people through welfare schemes, like Ujwala, PMAY, AYUSH etc, raising LPG prices almost on a daily basis is undoing all the good work.
All households have a monthly budget, which mostly runs on deficit, but still somehow managed. The increase in the LPG price from 561rs to 831rs, within 9 months, is a deadly blow to all MIDDLE CLASS and LOWER MIDDLE CLASS households. What is the point of giving free cylinders, if we can't afford monthly refills. Should we stop cooking? Or use firewood? The petroleum price has been increased (for promoting alternative fuels/sources) but the domestic use petroleum by products should not increase in price. There is no alternative for LPG for cooking purpose. No solar or wind driven stove. Definitely electric stoves aren't possible alternative, as they consume a lot of electricity.
I'm not an economist or knowledgeable person. But there surely must be a way to get LPG prices below 600rs and maintain it there. Whether it's brought under GST or the price is regulated by our government, please do something. This gives an appearance that our central government is helpless and held hostage by gas companies. There should be some stability in the price. Any increase is done immediately, while there are no decreases at all. The increase in the LPG price is unprecedented and shocking. Please bring down the LPG price to below 600rs and maintain it for a year at least.
