Pension under CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972 to NVS Employees who Joined before 01/01/2004
Why this petition matters
Govt. of India is showing greatest concern for the Social Security and family welfare of all the citizens of India. All the Central Govt employees who have joined in the service before 01-01-2004 are protected with CCS 1972 Pension scheme. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) are run by NVS under the Ministry of HRD, 100 % funded by the Govt, of India. Employees of JNVs are more burdened than Kendriya Vidyalaya(KV) staff. JNVs are residential and predominantly for rural children, in remote rural areas. Eventhough most of the JNV students are first generation learners, NVS results always on the top of the Country but no pension to NVS employees where as KVS has CCS 1972 pension scheme.
We appeal that NVS staff should at least be treated on par with the employees of KVS. More over KVS and NVS are running under the same ministry. JNV staff are serving their best to the Rural India and moulding the best human beings and global citizens for which we are the paradigm. They are definitely deserved for CCS 1972 pension.
Recently GOI has given an opportunity to all the CG employees who joined before 01-01-2004 and whose selection was processed in 2003 and joined after 01-01-2004 to opt for CCS 1972 pension. NVS employees were never asked to opt for CCS 1972 pension. The same opportunity may please be extended to the NVS employees also.
Without pension the post retirement life of “Our Gurus” are very pathetic and miserable. Their families are struggling hard for livelihood. It is heart breaking to see the grievances of our GURUs who have shown us a better path, moulded us a better persons, and on whose selfless dedicated work and guidance we are now in good position. Hoping your good office will take good decision and grant the pension to NVS staff who joined prior to 2004, so that our GURUs may lead a minimum comfortable and respectable life after retirement.
