Padmavati movie - A Big blot on Indian culture

Dear honourable Prime Minister of India,

We want to bring in your kind attention, the most burning issue of today - Padmavati ( a movie by Sanjay Leela Bhansali)
Padmini, also known as Padmavati, was a legendary 13th-14th century Indian queen (Rani). Padmavati was an exceptionally beautiful princess. Ratan Sen, the Rajput ruler of Chittor, heard about her beauty and after an adventurous quest, he won her hand in marriage and brought her to Chittor. Alauddin Khalji, the Sultan of Delhi also heard about her beauty, and laid siege to Chittor to obtain her. Many events occurred during the period of the Siege, till the Fort was finally taken. Meanwhile, Ratan Sen was killed in a duel. Before Alauddin Khalji could capture Chittor, Padmavati and her 16,000 companions committed Jauhar (self-immolation) to protect their honour. After her sacrifice, the Rajput men died fighting on the battlefield.

Even after 700 years, Rani Padmavati continues to be the symbol of honour, pride and dignity for all true Indians. In the state of Rajasthan, she enjoys the status of a deity.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has already spoiled the image of Peshwa Bajirao, who was one of the greatest warrior which India has produced but Sanjay Leela Bhansali represented him as a Romeo.

In view of the already released, objectionable trailer of the movie and the track record of Bhansali we request you to kindly constitute a high level committee to review the movie before its release.

We reiterate once again that if without addressing the sentiments of majority of the population of this country this movie is released , then it will give an opportunity to all for making mockery of Indian culture and values.

Your immediate intervention on the subject will definately heal the already devastated sentiments of people of this country.
