Gurpreet Kaur started this petition to Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and

Rapists should be given death penalty, beaten by public, and get such punishments that creates fear in them to do rapes. Also, we should make families aware that they should learn to teach their sons too. Teach them how to behave and have manners towards women. Let’s be serious about this topic besides always putting it aside to take care of it later. Rapes should never happen because there’s no reason for it to happen.

Cases of rapes always have only increased, never decreased. Why is it that women in this world are not safe? Why do women have to always be concerned about their safety? Rapes happen but no strict actions are taken against the rapists, besides most of the times the victim gets blamed in return. Many rape files get closed before getting justice and some cases never gets registered. The rapists walk freely on streets without any fear. Why their actions are not seen, but we are ready to point the victims for something they should not be blamed for.

Everyday rapes happen and some go unheard. There are some recent cases that have shaked many of us. These cases took in different country and may not relate to other countries, however we should accept rape happens everywhere and we need a change. If one country makes change, at least other countries will bring changes too. The following are three examples of very recent rapes that happened in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

A 22 years old woman and 19 years old teenger were brutally gang raped by “men” in Uttar Pradesh. The 19 year old teen girl’s tongue was also cut off by the rapists. She was also burned by the police when pronounced death, but without the permission of her family. Also, a few weeks ago, in Pakistan, a mother was gang raped by men in front of her own kids. In Bangladesh, A woman was gang-raped by a group of men at a hostel of the Murari Chand College in Bangladesh’s Sylhet district, in front of her husband who was tied up. What is their fault? Nothing. But who gets blamed? Woman. And what happens to the rapists? Almost nothing or very less punishment.

There are many more cases and the numbers are countless. Many of them never get justice. Why is the system light about this? We all know about rapes and are aware it happens everyday and yet no strict actions are taken against the rapists. Until when will we have to raise our voices against this topic. Enough is enough!
