OUR LAND OUR RIGHT, WE OPPOSE CAB 2016 ASSAM IS NOT THE PUPPET IN THE HANDS OF GOVERNMENT
Why this petition matters

Respected sir,
I'm Sabina Alia from Assam grievously writing this petition to you. After a great controversy, overtaking the Indian Constitution , ignoring the huge interest of the citizens of Assam, Citizen Amendment Bill 2016 has been approved .
On behalf of the citizens of Assam, it's my humble request to you, please don't try to break the entire peaceful situation of Assam by imposing the burden of foreigners on it. We don't want to see this green land a battle field. Assam is already overburdened with a lot of problems.
1. The population density of Assam is 398 per square km which is higher than the National Average 382 per square km.
2. The total population of Assam is 35.56 million and One third of total population is poor.
3. Assam has the highest number of beggars in North-East. It has 22,116 destitute people.
4. During flood season, 145 villages get under water and 3,435 hectares of crop areas are damaged every year.
5. 62,400 people of Assam are suffering due to flood every year.
6. Assam has a total of 16,99,977 educated unemployed people as per official record.
7. The Dark Age of the Assamese Language is a 37 year long time-frame from 1836-1873 during which Bengali eclipsed the Assamese Language.
The citizens of Assam are very much aware of the above concerns. It is an issue of principle for us. CAB is an assault on the basic structure of the Constitution. The present situation has compelled us to think that Citizen Amendment Bill 2016 is the divisive polarising agenda of the BJP government. For the vote of 12 lakh refugee Bangladeshi your government is ignoring the interest of 35.56 million indeginious people of Assam.
At last, again I request you , please don't impose the burden of refugees on Assam. If your government has decided to bring the Hindu Bangladeshi then adjust them to any other states except Assam. I hope, you will take the issue seriously.
Thanking you,
Sabina Alia
