Declare National Health Emergency

Declare National Health Emergency
Why this petition matters

To
The Honourable Prime Minister, Government of India, New Delhi.
Respected Prime Minister,
We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about the present Nationwide Scenario, in the wake of the severity of the 2nd wave of Covid -19 Pandemic and the behavior/conduct of some State Governments, various sections of the society and stake holders, specifically that of the Opposition and the elements misguided by them. No doubt, we have some where gone wrong in assessing the Pandemic. Given that, it’s not the responsibility only of the Government and more so that of the PM alone to tackle the pandemic while the other sections can afford to continue to be totally irresponsible with gay abandon, joining hands with all Anti- National elements both within and without. These few months have taught many lessons, but discussion on that later.
Right now, the uncertainty of second wave having not yet peaked, a certain inevitable 3rd wave is staring at us. The Govt hands are full with tasks to be accomplished - the most important being Vaccinating a huge-very huge population coupled with the urgent task of providing immediate medical infra at an unprecedented scale in the wake of increasing number of Covid-19 positive cases and a highly demanding Political set-up of some States who are quick to make demands upon Central Government with Zero contribution from themselves.
From out of the experience of our relatives and friends we derive that the free medical kits given by the Goveremnet to Covid patients are not directly distributed but are sold for Rs2000 or so and so many places the medicines are stolen and sold for higher price. Artificial scarcity of beds is created to panic the public and to make them believe that the Government is not able to cope up and meet the demand. It is all done purely by a handful of antisocial, unscrupulous anti national elements in our society, who are maligned to the development of the country.
In the wake of this scenario, we urge upon your goodself to explore the need and feasibility of Declaring National Health Emergency to arm/equip the Government better, for dealing with the situation. We know that many factors are to be considered. But if the situation warrant Government must invoke this provision. We feel the situation warrants and invoking the Provision the Government MUST.
So long as the Govt is convinced of the need and know that it is not here to trample any democratic rights, the Govt must take a well-considered decision, both undeterred by Praise and undaunted by criticism, after putting in place all pre-requisites-like Migratory labour, daily sustenance of those economically needy/ration etc, indicating a clear time frame for lifting of emergency either by target or actual date.
With utmost respects and regards.
M.R. Gopalakrishnan & G. Krishnamoorthy. Ordinary Citizens of India,
Interested in saving our Beloved Nation, its unity and Development.
