Central governance for the Indian war against COVID-19
Central governance for the Indian war against COVID-19
The Central government needs to take charge of the governance of the Indian war on COVID-19 and include below:
1) Develop a central body for creating and implementing a united approach for the Indian war against COVID with the involvement of all states - to include healthcare, food, money and logistics. There are so many government initiatives, private and NGO initiatives that need to be brought together to avoid duplication and effectively use the resources India has.
2) Development of national guidelines on home and hospital management of COVID
3) Achieve mobilisation of public communication (example TV and social media) for education campaign, based on the above guidelines
4) Community leaders to model behaviours to reduce virus transmission
5) Stop mass gatherings religious or otherwise, political rallies
6) Phone triage lines with doctors and nurses giving advice to the public on the management of COVID at home based on national guidelines, when safely possible to avoid overloading hospitals.
7) Create a national database for the huge number of doctors and nurses overseas who are willing to help with triage
8) Deploy support during lockdowns of basic essentials such as food and money
