Paper wastage is a very underestimated but an equally grave threat to our environment. Not making this issue a global threat and someone else's burden , let's try to see its local impact and make it our problem. Mumbai single handedly accounts for 6.11% of the total waste generated everyday in India. Statistics represent that each individual in Mumbai generates about 650 grams of waste daily, this count may further increase to 1kg in the upcoming years , if not checked. While felling of trees as a collateral damage for paper production is inevitable, paper wastage is optional. The problem of paper wastage is highly undermined and the solutions are only restricted to recycling policies by the Government of India.

Enactus Jai Hind College is a community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better more sustainable world. We introduce you to the campaign of saving paper through double sided printing.

OUR GOAL?

- To urge the government to stop single-sided printing and make two-sided printing of legal documents mandatory. This may not sound like much but it will reduce paper consumption to 50%.

- To urge the local xerox centres and stationery shops to boycott single sided printing.

- In turn reduce the total paper consumption to 50% and reduce the felling of trees for the same, hence promoting a greener environment.

We urge you to spare 15 minutes of your life to help yourself live an extra 15 days.
